Last Game
Luke Heimlich struck out 12 and Trevor Larnach and Tyler Malone each homered to pace the Beavers to a 5-2 win over Oregon on Thursday. Heimlich now has 305 career strikeouts, breaking a new OSU record, surpassing Jonah Nickerson, who had 299. Larnach hit a solo shot in the third and Malone a two-run blast in the fifth.
Earlier Thursday
OSU starter Luke Heimlich was named to the College Baseball Hall of Fame's Pitcher of the Year Watch List prior to Thursday's game against Oregon. Cadyn Grenier, meanwhile, was named to the CBF's Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, which is given annually to the nation's top college shortstop.
Big Crowd At Goss
The 3,692 in attendance Thursday marked the third-largest crowd in the Goss Stadium era, and the largest during the regular season. It trails only the two games at the 2017 Corvallis Super Regional versus Vanderbilt: 3,737 on June 9, and 3,734 the following day.
Teammates
The last player to hit a home run in three consecutive days prior to Tyler Malone, who hit a two-run shot on Thursday? Try teammate Trevor Larnach, who homered against New Mexico, Gonzaga and Cal Poly from Feb. 16-18 this season.
Equaling 2017
Home runs by Trevor Larnach and Tyler Malone pushed the Beavers to 31 as a team through the first 33 games of the season. That equals the 2017 Beavers, who finished with 31 in 62 games.
To No. 8
Jake Mulholland's 10th save of the season moved him into a tie for eighth with Scott Schultz (2013) for the most in a single-season at Oregon State. He's one shy of sixth, which is held by Mitch Hickey (2015) and Max Engelbrekt (2016), who both had 11.
