Beavers Conclude Play At ASU Thunderbird

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Oregon State men's golf team finished in a tie for 10th place at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational on Sunday.

The Beavers concluded the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a 16-over 290-281-297--868 at the par-71, 7,032-yard ASU Karsten Golf Course.
Â
Arizona State won the team title with a 22-under 830, one stroke better than UNLV (21-under 831) and three better than Oklahoma (19-under 833).
Â
Sophomore Kyosuke Hara led the Beavers with a 1-under 71-68-73--212 to finish in a tie for 19th place. It's the fourth top-20 finish of his career with three of them coming this spring.

Sophomore Shawn Lu was a stroke back with an even-par 73-66-74--213 to finish in a tie for 27th place. He had a team-best 13 birdies over the three rounds.

Junior Trevor Yu finished in a tie for 52nd place with a 7-over 75-72-73--220, freshman Spencer Tibbits finished in a tie for 58th with a 10-over 71-75-77--223 and freshman Keaton Gudz carded an 18-over 77-77-77--231 for a tie for 79th.

Junior Tom Kerkvliet competed as an individual and finished in a tie for 33rd place with a 17-over 78-77-75--230. The individual tourney was held at the par-71, 7,316-yard Papago Golf Course.

Shintaro Ban of UNLV and Yannik Paul of Colorado shared medalist honors with an 11-under 202.

The Beavers will next compete at the Pac-12 Championship, which is scheduled for Monday, April 23 to Wednesday, April 25 in Los Angeles, Calif.
