The Beavers claimed their 14th consecutive Pac-12 series win despite Sunday's loss
Despite the loss, Oregon State still claimed its 14th consecutive Pac-12 Conference series after sweeping a doubleheader over the Huskies Saturday. The Beavers are 20-2 overall and will enter a series at Utah Thursday holding a 5-1 league record.
Washington, meanwhile, improved to 11-10 overall and 4-2 in conference action.
Taylor drove in a pair of runs via singles in both the second and fourth innings. Rutschman, meanwhile, drove in his 24th run of the season with a double in the seventh.
Andy Armstrong accounted for an Oregon State run with an RBI double in the fourth. The Huskies held a 5-1 lead entering the bottom half of the fourth before OSU trimmed the lead to two with the two runs.
Washington, however, scored two in the seventh and one more in the eighth – on a solo home run by Joe Wainhouse – for the final tally.
Grant Gambrell took the loss to drop to 3-1 on the year. He allowed five hits and two runs in 2 1/3 innings.
Washington starter Jordan Jones improved to 3-2 after earning the win. He held the Beavers to seven hits and three runs in five innings of work.
