Last Game
Andy Armstrong drove in the game-tying run in the seventh and Adley Rutschman hit his first home run of the season but Oregon State dropped a 5-3 decision to Cal State Fullerton in the three-game series opener Friday at Goss Stadium. Luke Heimlich started and struck out nine but did not figure in the decision. Luke Heimlich doubled twice, driving in a run in the third.

But Still
The Beavers suffered their first loss of the season on Friday. That pushes Oregon State to 74-8 over its last 82 games. That's a .902 winning percentage.

And At Home
The loss also snapped Oregon State's 22-game home winning streak. However, over their last 41 games, the Beavers are 39-2 at Goss Stadium, a winning percentage of .951.

Rematch From Omaha
This weekend's series is a rematch from the first game of the 2017 College World Series, won by the Beavers, 6-5. Down 5-1, OSU scored four in the sixth to tie the game, then went ahead for good on an Adley Rutschman RBI single in the eighth.

Gretler & Rutschman
Michael Gretler and Adley Rutschman each recorded one hit Friday to extend their respective hit streaks to six games. Gretler singled, while Rutschman hit a towering home run to right in the sixth.

And Then There's Larnach
Trevor Larnach finished with his sixth multi-hit game this season when he tallied two doubles versus the Titans. That ties him with Adley Rutschman for the team lead. Larnach also has eight multi-RBI games.

• Saturday's game marks the first of 23 televised broadcasts this season, the most by any team in the Pac-12. Twenty-one will air on the Pac-12 Networks, and two on ESPNU.
