Andy Armstrong drove in the game-tying run in the seventh and Adley Rutschman hit his first home run of the season but Oregon State dropped a 5-3 decision to Cal State Fullerton in the three-game series opener Friday at Goss Stadium. Luke Heimlich started and struck out nine but did not figure in the decision. Luke Heimlich doubled twice, driving in a run in the third.

The Beavers suffered their first loss of the season on Friday. That pushes Oregon State to 74-8 over its last 82 games. That's a .902 winning percentage.
