LAST TIME OUT: Oregon State battled through cold and rainy conditions to post the second-best score in the final round of the Southwestern Invitational this past week.
The strong final round of 1-under 287 vaulted the Beavers four spots up the leaderboard to finish in 10th place with a 40-over 303-314-287-904 at the par-72, 6,992-yard North Ranch Country Club.
UCLA won the title with an 8-under 856 and Kyle Mueller of Michigan claimed medalist honors with an 8-under 208.
The schedule planned for 36 holes on Monday, but a two-hour frost delay forced play to be suspended due to darkness. There was another frost delay on Tuesday, this time 90 minutes, and a brief stoppage due to hail.
Kyosuke Hara led the Beavers with a 6-over 74-77-71--222 to finish in a tie for 18th place. Shawn Lu also shot in red figures in the final round that helped him finish in a tie for 24th place with an 8-over 78-76-70--224.
Trevor Yu played his best in the final round, finishing the tourney with an 11-over 74-81-72--227 for a tie for 33rd place. Spencer Tibbits finished in a tie for 46th with a 15-over 77-80-74--231 and Jonas Liebich carded a 27-over 78-85-80--243 to finish in 76th place.
