Oregon State Men’s Rowing Competes at Portland Fall Classic

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Oregon State men's rowing hit the road early heading north to Portland to compete at the Portland Fall Classic on the Willamette River Sunday morning.

The Beavers entered three boats, the Woodman, the Dirth, and the Hansen into the Men's Collegiate Division I Varsity 8+ category. They were the only entrants in their respective division.

Coxed by Ben Garrison, the Woodman rowed to a first place finish in the first event of the day. Powered by Nick Taylor, Gregory Adelman, Tyler Gray, Nick Touchette, Ezra Glickman, Hunter Smith, Max McDonald and Emerson, the Beavers traversed the course in 17-minutes 5.571-seconds claiming the top spot.

The Dirth was the second finishing boat for Oregon State. Manned by Samuel Foltz, Zach Niedermeyer, Jacob Randall, Hunter Rust, C.J. Wallace, Roman Pjajka, Alex Carlton, Nils Patrick, and coxed by Nick West, the Dirth finished a little over 12-seconds off the pace of the Woodman at 17-minutes 17.812-seconds.

The final entrant into the V8+ for the Beavers, the Hansen, was coxed by Desiree Odgers, and powered by Josh Hocker, Jacoby Wilson, Zachary Smith, Zach Fried, Jacob Hart, Christian Touhey, Camron Gharib and Austin DeMartine. The Hansen finished with a time of 17-minutes 26.615-seconds.
