Beavers Set to Host Stanford, Cal and DAM Cancer Match

ON TAP
• The Beavers, who have been on the road the last two weeks, return to Gill Coliseum to host the Bay Area schools.
• OSU (10-10, 0-8 Pac-12) hosts No. 2 Stanford (16-1, 8-0) Friday night at 7 p.m.
• Oregon State returns to the court Sunday at noon to host California (10-9, 2-6).
DAM CANCER
• Sunday's match is the volleyball program's annual DAM Cancer match presented by The Corvallis Clinic. Purchase a DAM Cancer t-shirt at the OSU Beaver Store and receive free admission to all DAM Cancer events this year. Proceeds benefit Project H.E.R. The first 200 students will recieve a free DAM Cancer t-shirt.
• There will also be a silent auction in the Gill Coliseum lobby. Proceeds from the auction benefit Project H.E.R.
BEAVER DAM STUDENT GAME
• Friday's match against Stanford is OSU's Beaver Dam game. The first 200 students through the Gill Coliseum doors will receive a #WeAreTheDam t-shirt. In addition, it is the team's Transfer Student game, students have the opportunity to learn new cheers and learn about the BeaverDam prior to the match.
PROMOTIONS
• The Stanford match on Friday is Faculty/Staff Friday. Oregon State faculty and staff can purchase tickets for $5 with a valid OSU ID.
• On Sunday, fans who present a ticket stub from Saturday's OSU football game against California are eligible to receive a free general admission ticket to the match against Cal.
• 2018 summer camp participants receive free admission to every home OSU volleyball match with their 2018 camp t-shirt.
TELEVISION & LIVE VIDEO
• Friday's match against the Cardinal will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Bay Area only. Rich Burk will be on the call and Amy Gant will have the analysis.
• Sunday's match against the Bears will also air on Pac-12 Oregon. Rich Burk has the call and Nicole Rigoni will be the analyst.
• Fans with subscriptions to the Network can also watch the matches on Pac-12.com, or via the Pac-12 Now app.

AGAINST THE CARDINAL
• OSU trails the all-time series 0-66.
AGAINST THE GOLDEN BEARS
• The Beavers trail the series with the Bears 25-47. Despite the lopsided series record, the Beavers are on a seven-game win streak against Cal dating back to 2014, which is the longest win streak for OSU against Cal in the series.
LAST WEEKEND IN THE MOUNTAINS
• Oregon State took Utah to five sets on Thursday in Salt Lake City. The Beavers served for set point four times in the second set before succumbing 32-30.
• OSU won sets three and four in SLC to force a fifth set. It was the first time the Beavers had won a set since a five-setter against Washington on Sept. 23.
• Haylie Bennett recorded a career-high 19 kills, while Maddie Sheehan set career-best with 49 assists, eight kills, 17 digs and tied her personal-mark with five blocks against the Utes.
• The Beavers fell to Colorado in Boulder on Sunday.
• Maddie Goings registered 14 kills and Grace Massey tallied 20 digs against the Buffs.
HALL OF FAME
• This weekend is the OSU Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2018 induction.
• Among this year's inductees are the 1969-70 and 1970-71 Oregon State volleyball teams.
• The 1969-70 team captured the Pacific Northwest Trophy and won their first 21 matches. The team finished 23-3 making it to the "Sweet 16."
• The 1970-71 team gained momentum at the end the of the season and advanced to the "Elite Eight" going 5-1 in the postseason for an overall mark of 22-8.
• The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Friday, Oct. 19.
• Both teams will be honored on the court during Sunday's match against California.
TOP OF THE PAC
• The Beavers rank second in the Pac-12 and 24th in the nation with 2.63 blocks per set in 2018. Middle blocker Lindsey Schell ranks eighth in the conference with 1.16 blocks per set and Maddy Gravley (1.12) is 10th.
• Libero Grace Massey ranks fourth in the Pac-12 with 4.64 digs per set. She has led the Beavers in digs in 18 out of 20 matches in 2018.
• Defensive specialist Kayla Ellis is fourth in the league with 0.45 aces per set (13 total) since Pac-12 Conference play began four weeks ago.
ACES
• Sophomore libero Grace Massey was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week following the opening week of the season. Massey accumulated a conference-high 65 digs at the Iowa State Challenge and was named as a tournament co-MVP.
• Freshman setter Maddie Sheehan was named as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week following the SDSU/USD Challenge. Sheehan tied her career-high with 44 assists and added career-bests with six kills and five blocks in a win over No. 23 San Diego.
• Senior Kayla Ellis once again moved up OSU's all-time rankings to fourth with 1,367 career digs. She remains within striking distance of third (Tricia Becker, 1,483) late in the season.
ON THE SIDELINE
• Senior Kory Cheshire is out for the season due to an undisclosed injury.
• Senior outside hitter Shekinah Clarke will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.
• Both will apply for another year of eligibility and intend to return to the program in 2019.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAMS
• SDSU/USD Challenge - Amy Underdown was chosen as the MVP after leading the team in kills in each match as the Beavers went 3-0 including a five-set upset of No. 23 San Diego. Maddy Gravley was also named to the all-tournament team.
• K-State Invitational - Haylie Bennett and Maddie Sheehan were named to the all-tournament team.
• Iowa State Challenge - Maddie Goings and Lindsey Schell were each named to the Iowa State Challenge All-Tournament Team and Grace Massey was selected as a tournament co-MVP on the season's opening weekend.
