
Marshall Named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State senior outside hitter Mary-Kate Marshall has been named as the Pac-12 Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Marshall racked up 47 kills over the weekend in the Beavers' three matches at the North Harbour Marriott Invitational, hosted by the University of Portland. Marshall's 19 kills Saturday night over previously unbeaten Portland matched her, and the team's, season-high.

The award is the sixth Pac-12 weekly honor of Marshall's career and first as the Offensive Player of the Week. She was named as the conference's Freshman of the Week five times in her rookie season in 2014.

She becomes the first OSU player to be named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week since Arica Nassar in 2012.

A 2016 honorable mention All-American, Marshall has tallied 1,486 kills in three-plus years at OSU moving into fourth on Oregon State's all-time list.

The native of Coppell, Texas currently leads the Pac-12 with 96 kills and ranks fourth with 4.80 kills per set. In addition, she leads the conference with 13 service aces.

Marshall and the rest of the Beavers take a 6-0 record into the third week of the season which will be spent at the North Texas Challenge in Denton, Texas. The Beavers are slated to meet the host, North Texas, Friday at 4:30 p.m. PT before playing twice on Saturday against Campbell at 11 a.m. PT and New Orleans at 3 p.m. PT.
