
Gretler, Sass Named Scholar-Athletes Of The Month

Two student-athletes are selected each month, coordinated by the Academics for Student-Athletes staff
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University Athletics is proud to announce Michael Gretler and Michelle Sass have been named April Student-Athletes of the Month.

Gretler, a junior majoring in finance, has helped pace the top-ranked Oregon State baseball team to its fifth conference championship since 2005 and a 42-4 overall record. A Bonney Lake, Wash., native, he posted a 3.27 GPA in the winter.

"There are many great student-athletes at Oregon State who work hard and are well-deserving of this honor," he said. "For that, I am thankful to be recognized with this award."

Sass, a native of St. Helens, Ore., is a member of the NCAA-bound Oregon State softball team, which is opening against James Madison Friday in the Waco Regional. A kinesiology major, the sophomore holds a 3.61 GPA.

"I'm very honored to be selected as scholar-athlete of the month," she said. "I wouldn't be able to be fully dedicated to my studies and my sport if it wasn't for the support of my coaches, teammates and family. I'm thankful for this opportunity and proud to be a Beaver."
