Last Game
Jake Thompson held Ohio State to two hits and a run in a career-long eight innings to help pace the Beavers to a 5-1 win over the Buckeyes Sunday in Surprise, Ariz. Michael Gretler and Andy Atwood each had two hits an an RBI in the win, which saw the Beavers tally seven hits and four walks off four Ohio State pitchers. Thompson picked up his third win of the season after limiting Ohio State to a bunt single and a solo home run.
Back Home, Finally
The Beavers are back to Goss Stadium at Coleman Field after a 10-day, eight-game stretch on the road in Surprise, Ariz. There, Oregon State went 7-1, outscoring Duke, Indiana, Nebraska and Ohio State by a 43-16 margin.
Home Openers
Oregon State has won its last 13 home openers dating back to the 2004 season. The team's last opening day loss at Goss Stadium was in 2003 against Washington. The Beavers took 2-of-3 from San Francisco in the first series at home last season.
