Beavers Cruise To Exhibition Win Over Pacific

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Stephen Thompson Jr. scored a game-high 21 points and Tres Tinkle posted a double-double to lead the Oregon State men's basketball team to a 91-69 exhibition win over Pacific on Friday.

Thompson Jr. went 7-for-14 from the field, including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc, and 4-for-4 from the stripe for his 21 points. He added nine rebounds and three assists.

Tinkle, who missed all but six games last season, showed the Gill Coliseum crowd of 4,192 that he's healthy and ready with his 15 points and 10 rebounds. He added three assists, three blocked shots and a steal.

Fourteen Oregon State players saw action in the game and 12 of them scored. Drew Eubanks and Ethan Thompson were also in double figures with 13 points and six rebounds apiece.

 The Beavers never trailed, led by as many as 31 points, and finished with a scoring advantage of 50-14 in the paint and 25-7 off turnovers.

Brevin Brown led the Boxers with 20 points.

The Beavers open their regular season on Friday, Nov. 10 against Southern Utah at 7 p.m. at Gill Coliseum. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Oregon.
