Beavers Ready For Monday Night Basketball

THE GAME: Oregon State (1-0) hosts the Wyoming Cowboys (1-0) at 8 p.m. on Monday at Gill Coliseum in its second of three home games to open the season.

vs. WYOMING: Oregon State and Wyoming meet for the 12th time in history with the Beavers leading the series, 8-3.

The teams first played at the NCAA West Regional in Kansas City, Mo., on March 22, 1946, which the Beavers won, 63-46. They played two times in Corvallis in 1948 with Oregon State winning 55-50 on Dec. 20 and Wyoming pulling out a 53-52 overtime thriller on Dec. 21. The teams played twice again in Corvallis in 1955 and split with the Beavers winning 53-46 on Dec. 9 and the Cowboys getting revenge with a 52-51 victory on Dec. 10.

Oregon State won the next five meetings: 68-65 on Dec. 1, 1956 in Laramie; 81-56 on Dec. 29, 1972 at the Far West Classic in Portland; 79-69 on Dec. 5, 1977 in Corvallis; 71-56 on Nov. 27, 1978 in Laramie; and 83-77 on Dec. 20, 1999 in Corvallis.

Wyoming won the most recent matchup, 65-53, on Dec. 16, 2000 in a game that was played in Casper, Wyo.

2018 RECRUITING CLASS: Oregon State's 2018 class includes Kylor Kelley, a 7-foot, 215-pound forward from Logan, Utah, Warren Washington, a 6-foot-11, 210-pound forward from San Marcos, Calif., and Jack Wilson, a 7-foot, 230-pound center from Half Moon Bay, Calif.

"We are adding size, depth and talent to our frontline with the addition of these three players," Oregon State head coach Wayne Tinkle said.
