Beavers Have Strong Outing at Portland Fall Classic

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon State men's rowing shined on a cloudy day at the Portland Fall Classic taking gold in both the Men's Collegiate Varsity 4 and the Men's Collegiate 2-.
The Beavers raced four Varsity 4's in the Men's Varsity 4 category. Oregon State crew in the "Morse", coxswained by Ercoli Crugnale, and powered by Neall Koetje, Baxter Call, Glenn Miller and Roman Pjajka, took first with a time of 19-minutes, 6.926 seconds. Followed closely by the "Rooney", with a time of 19:23.701.
"Going 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the Men's Varsity 4's is a good result, there was great conditions for a great race," said head coach Gabe Winkler. "Our ground game is right were I'd like it to be rolling into next weekends' race at the Head of the Lake in Seattle.
Oregon State had two other entries into the Men's Varsity 4 ; "1975" finished third with a time of 20:28.901, while the "Alumni" finished with a time of 20:55.960 in fourth place.
The Beavers entered a boat into the Men's Collegiate 2- and took home the bronze medal with a time of 25:23.068.
