CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's golf team returns to the links to compete at the Rose City Collegiate, which will be held Monday and Tuesday in Aurora, Ore.

FIELD (15): Oregon State, Portland State, Cal State Fullerton, Seattle, Sacramento State, Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona, Weber State, Northern Colorado, Texas Rio Grande Valley, Boise State, Montana, UC Riverside, Concordia and Southern Utah.

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,057-yard Langdon Farms Golf Club.

BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of juniors Susie Cavanagh, Haley Nist and Hannah Swanson, sophomore Olivia Benzin and freshman Nicole Schroeder. It will be the Beaver debut for Cavanagh, who transferred to Oregon State from UConn. Senior Elyse Smidinger will compete as an individual.

FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Monday and tee times off the first and 10th holes beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

LAST YEAR AT THE ROSE CITY COLLEGAITE: The Beavers set a school record on the final day of the Rose City Collegiate last year,, as three golfers placed in the top 10, to help them finish in second place at the 15-team event.

Oregon State shot a 9-over 873 at the two-day, 54-hole tournament to set the three-round program record. The previous record was a 10-over 874 at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in 2013 and 2014.

The Beavers fired a 1-over 289 at the par-72, 6,057-yard Langdon Farms Golf Club in the final round to finish the tourney with a 9-over 294-290-289--873 to finish second by only two strokes. San Francisco won the team title with a 7-over 285-296-290--871.

The 1-over 289 by the Beavers equals the fourth-lowest single-round score in school history.

Haley Nist had her best tournament as a Beaver, finishing in a tie for third place, while Olivia Benzin finished in seventh place and Chelsea Saelee was ninth.

Nist followed up a career-best 1-under 71 on the first day with a 3-under 69 in the final round to post her best finish as a collegian with a 2-under 74-71-69--214.

Benzin continued a strong start to her collegiate career with a 1-under 73-72-70--215. The 2-under 70 in the final round was the lowest round of Benzin's young career.

Saelee recorded her fourth top-10 finish with a 1-over 72-73-72--217. The 1-over three-round score equals the lowest of her career. Saelee's best career finish is a tie for third place at the Rose City Collegiate two years ago.

Ashlee Pickerell finished in a tie for 27th place with a 12-over 75-75-78--228 and Hannah Swanson shot a 14-over 77-74-79--230 for a tie for 38th place.

LAST TIME OUT: It was an impressive start to the 2016-17 season for the Oregon State women's golf team, as they rallied late to finish in fourth place at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Tuesday.

The Beavers shot an 11-over 299 in the final round at the par-72, 6,364-yard Ptarmigan Country Club and finished the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a 27-over 298-294-299--891.

San Jose State ran away with the team title, posting a 7-over 871, while UC Irvine (21-over 885) and Gonzaga (25-over 889) finished just ahead of Oregon State in the 17-team field.

"Overall, it was a solid start to the season and good momentum for our next event in Portland," Oregon State head coach Dawn Shockley said. "I'm extremely proud of Olivia and her consistent play."

Elyse Smidinger and Olivia Benzin both had two birdies and three bogeys in the final round to finish with a team-best 1-over 73.

Benzin posted her second career top-10 finish, shooting a 3-over 71-75-73--219, to finish in 10th place. The Tacoma, Wash., native finished seventh at the Rose City Collegiate last season in just her second collegiate event.

Smidinger, who sat out last season after transferring from UConn, had a strong debut for Oregon State, as she improved each round to finish in a tie for 19th place with an 8-over 77-74-73--224. She had nine birdies over the two days, the second most on the team.

Haley Nist finished in a tie for 23rd place with a 9-over 78-72-75--225 for her sixth career top-25 finish. A year after setting the program's single-season scoring average record (74.43), Nist started her junior campaign with a team-best 10 birdies over the three rounds.

Hannah Swanson and Nicole Schroeder each shot a 16-over 232 to finish in a tie for 47th place. Swanson posted scores of 75-79-78, while Schroeder carded 75-73-84 in her first collegiate tournament.
