
Eight Men's Rowers Earn Pac-12 Academic Accolades

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Eight Oregon State men's rowers were named to the Pac-12 Men's Rowing All-Academic team when it was announced by the Conference on Friday.
Senior Bobby Vernazza (3.52, biology), junior Liam Kucey (3.46, civil engineering) and sophomores Baxter Call (3.64, environmental engineering) and Neall Koetje (3.76, exercise and sport science) garnered first team all-academic honors. It is the third consecutive first team award for Vernazza.
In addition, senior Josh West (3.12, management), juniors Nathan Smith (3.30, civil engineering) and Grant Van Kampen (3.05, construction engineering management), and sophomore Ercoli Crugnale (3.38, philosophy) received second team all-academic accolades. It is the second time Smith, Van Kampen and West have earned all-conference academic honors.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.
