
Anderson, Harrison Earn Academic Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. – Oregon State infielder KJ Harrison and outfielder Jack Anderson have both been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 8 team, it was announced Thursday. The two have been recognized for their performances in and out of the classroom.
Harrison, a sophomore pre-business major, sports a cumulative 3.39 grade point average. On the field, he's batting .295 with a team-leading 14 doubles and seven home runs. He's tied for first with 36 runs batted in and is tied for third with four triples.
Anderson, a redshirt sophomore kinesiology major, has a 3.73 grade point average. He's batting .280 with four doubles and 22 RBI.
Oregon State and Stanford are the lone Pac-12 Conference teams to place players on the District 8 team. District 8 comprises the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai'i, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
Student-athletes must have at least a 3.3 GPA to be nominated for the academic honors. As all-district members, Harrison and Anderson are both now eligible to be named Academic All-America. First, second and third-team honorees will be announced in mid to late May.
The Beavers are set for a three-game series at Arizona that opens Friday at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson. First pitch on Friday's opener is set for 7:05 p.m. PT. It can be seen live on Pac-12 Network, Pac-12 Oregon and by visiting Pac-12.com/Live (subscription required).
