Last Game
Christian Donahue tripled, drove in two and finished 3-for-5 to lead the seventh-ranked Oregon State baseball team to a 6-2 win over Central Arkansas in front of 4,852 at Ron Tonkin Field. The game was a part of the Dam City Showcase with the Oregon State football team practicing at neighboring Hillsboro Stadium leading up to the matchup with the Bears. Donahue highlighted his day with a run-scoring triple to the gap in left in the sixth.
Luke
• Sunday's probable starter, Luke Heimlich, is making his fourth start of the season.
• Heimlich's previous three starts have netted him a 2-0 record and 1.37 earned run average in 19 2/3 innings. He has 12 strikeouts to 12 walks as a starter.
• Heimlich is coming off a quality start against Washington. He allowed four hits and a run in 6 1/3 innings. He did not figure in the decision.
Saves
• Jordan Britton's save Saturday was the first of his career and the 13th by Oregon State pitchers this season.
• OSU tallied 15 saves a season ago. Mitch Hickey was credited with 11 and Luke Heimlich had four.
• The Beavers have gotten 10 saves from Max Engelbrekt this season, which leads the Pac-12. Bryce Fehmel (1), Jordan Britton (1) and Scotland Church (1) have all closed out games this season as well. Each recorded their save with three innings of relief.
Triples, Again
• Christian Donahue's triple Saturday gave the Beavers a nation's-best 22 this season. That comes out to .68 triples per game.
• Donahue also has a team-leading five this season. He had been tied for first with Logan Ice and KJ Harrison with four. Harrison tied for the team lead for one day after being the first Beaver with two in a game Friday night.
Madrigal The Active Leader
• Nick Madrigal went 2-for-3 Saturday to extend his hitting streak to seven games. It's the longest active streak on the team.
• Madrigal is 8-for-26 (.308) during it.
• He already owns the team's longest of the year at 14 games.
Singles
• The Beavers have won the first two games of the series by identical 6-2 scores. It's the first time OSU has won back-to-back games by the same score since defeating USC and California 6-1 in 2013.
• OSU is 16-3 when scoring first.
