March 08, 2016 | Softball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Game times have been adjusted for this weekend's Matador Classic hosted by CSUN in Northridge, Calif., affecting each game time for the 24th-ranked Oregon State softball team on Friday and Saturday.
Oregon State's opening game of the weekend against Grand Canyon will now start 10 minutes earlier, as first pitch is now slated for 10:50 a.m. PT rather than at 11 a.m. PT. The Beavers will face CSUN in their second game on Friday, with first pitch now set for 3:30 p.m. PT rather than 4 p.m. PT.
On Saturday, Oregon State will now play Toledo at 1:10 p.m. PT instead of the originally scheduled time of 1:30 p.m. PT. The Beavers face CSUN again on Saturday, with the rematch also now set for 3:30 p.m. PT instead of the original time of 4 p.m. PT.
The Beavers will still play San Diego at 10 a.m. PT on Sunday as originally planned.
Oregon State enters the Matador Classic with a No. 24 ranking in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll. The Beavers finished 2-2-1 against a challenging tournament field at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif., earning wins over North Carolina and Wisconsin by scores of 5-2 and 3-1, respectively. OSU fell only to then-No. 3/2 Michigan, 9-3, and then-No. 24/22 Baylor, 3-0, while tying then-No. 22/21 Fresno State, 6-6, the first game in which the Beavers tied since 2001.
