
Tinkle Earns Pac-12 All-Freshman Recognition

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Tres Tinkle received Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention recognition as selected by a vote of the conference coaches, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.
Tinkle, a 6-foot-8 forward from Missoula, Mont., is second on the Beavers in scoring (13.1) and rebounding (5.4), while shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 36.3 percent from beyond the arc and 73.5 percent from the free throw line. He missed the past two games after suffering a foot injury during a practice in Los Angeles.
Among Pac-12 freshmen, Tinkle was fourth in scoring (13.1), fourth in rebounding (5.4), fourth in steals (1.2) and eighth in assists (1.1) before the injury. Five players were selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team and three others, including Tinkle, received at least three votes to earn honorable mention recognition.
The Beavers now have 11 players who have received Pac-12 All-Freshman honors.
Oregon State (18-11, 9-9 Pac-12) opens the Pac-12 Tournament at 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday against Arizona State (15-16, 5-13) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The Beavers are the No. 6 seed and the Sun Devils are the No. 11 seed. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
