
Gymnastics Duo Receive All-America Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State junior gymnasts Kaytianna McMillan and Madeline Gardiner were named 2016 Regular Season All-Americans by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) Friday.
McMillan collected All-America honors for the first time in her career as a first-team selection on the uneven bars where she ranks No. 7 in the nation with a Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 9.925. McMillan, a human development and family sciences major, has scored 9.9.25 or better five times this season, all in the last six meets, and has secured six bars titles.
Gardiner earned second team accolades on the balance beam and has garnered four All-America honors in her career. The exercise and sport science major ended the regular season ranked tied for 12th in the nation with an RQS of 9.905. Gardiner scored 9.90 or higher five times and earned five beam wins among her 15 total individual titles this year.
This is the fourth year the NACGC/W has presented regular season All-America awards. The top eight gymnasts on each event and in the all-around ranked by RQS earn first team honors. The next eight (9-16) on each event and the all-around receive second team honors.
The Beavers travel to the NCAA Athens Regional Championships hosted by Georgia next Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. PT.
