THE MEET
The No. 20 Oregon State gymnastics team closes out its home schedule Friday evening when it hosts Ball State and Seattle Pacific for a triangular on Senior Night. The meet is set to begin at 7 p.m. in Gill Coliseum and will stream live at osubeavers.com. Former OSU gymnasts Heather Humphrey and Stephanie McGregor will have the call.
SENIOR NIGHT
Friday's meet marks the final time two seniors - Risa Perez and Jamie Radermacher - will compete inside Gill Coliseum. The duo will be honored in a senior ceremony following the meet.
BEAVER BITES
The Beavers are ranked No. 20 this week. Rankings switched last week to being determined by Regional Qualifyting Score ... all four of OSU's lineups are ranked among the top 25 in the nation. The bars (49.025) and beam teams are the Beavers' highest ranked lineup at No. 17 (48.995). The vault lineup is tied at No. 18 (48.960 average) and the floor exercise is tied at No. 21 (49.030) ... the Beavers are at the end of a stretch of three staight meets at Gill Coliseum including two this week, Monday, Feb. 29 vs. Stanford and Friday, Mar. 4 for Seattle Pacific and Ball State on Senior Night ... OSU's roster includes a pair of All-Americans, three-time honoree Madeline Gardiner, who has finished third on the beam in Event Finals each of the last two years, and Erika Aufiero, who will miss the season due to a knee injury suffered the week of the season opener ... the Beavers return 10 contributors in 2016 including 15 out of 24 routines from NCAA Championships in 2015. But it is more complicated than that. Senior Erika Aufiero, who was slated to perform in the all-around, and sophomore Dani Dessaints, who anchored the vault and bars lineups in the season-opener will both miss the season due to injury.
VS. SEATTLE PACIFIC
The Beavers have met the Falcons 45 times and have won each meeting. OSU carries a 30-0 home record against SPU into the Friday's meet. The teams last met in on Senior Night in 2015 with Oregon State coming out on top in a quad meet 197.075-193.225.
VS. BALL STATE
Friday's meet will be the first time that Ball State and Oregon State have met in women's gymnastics.
OREGON STATE QUICK HITTERS
Here are some quick hitters about the Oregon State gymnastics team in 2016:
Monday night the Beavers completed a two week sweep of the Bay Area schools with a come-from-behind, final-routine victory over Stanford, 196.325-196.250. With the score knotted at 196.250, freshman McKenna Singley, who was added to the floor lineup during the four-minute touch in place of Kaytianna McMillan, stepped onto the floor needing to score 9.850 or better (previous career-high was 9.750) to secure the win for the Beavers. Singley performed the best floor routine of her career bringing the Gill Coliseum crowd to its feet and elicited a score of 9.900 to not only win the meet but also the event title. OSU recorded a season-high 49.400 on the floor with career-highs from Mary Jacobsen (9.825) and Taylor Ricci (9.875) and four straight 9.875's to set the table for Singley's heroics. McMillan, who last week set her personal-mark on the bars with a 9.950, repeated the feat Monday to tie for the event title, while Risa Perez and Madeline Gardiner each posted 9.85's on the beam to tie for the meet-high score.
