
Bresser, Dhesi still ranked

Redshirt sophomore heavyweight Amarveer Dhesi (27-3) moved up two spots to No. 8 in InterMat's rankings. He was named the Outstanding Wrestler at the Pacific-12 Conference champions last Saturday after winning three matches in dominating fashion, and has a team-high 10 pins after winning twice by fall at Pac-12s.
Sophomore 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser (27-7) remained No. 7 in InterMat's rankings. He placed second at the Pac-12 championships.
The Beavers (11-6) remained No. 21 in InterMat's team rankings and moved to No. 23 in InterMat's tournament rankings.
There was no new USA Today/NWCA Top 25 poll. The Beavers were No. 22 in the Feb. 23 rankings.
Bresser was ranked No. 10 and Dhesi No. 11 in the weekly rankings released by the Amateur Wrestling News.
Dhesi, Bresser, redshirt sophomore Joey Delgado (149), senior Seth Thomas (165) and redshirt freshman Corey Griego (184) have advanced to the NCAA Championships, set for March 17-19 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Redshirt junior 133-pounder Joey Palmer (24-10), redshirt sophomore 157-pounder Abraham Rodriguez (17-14) and redshirt sophomore 197-pounder Cody Crawford (19-14) could earn an at-large NCAA berth, to be released on March 9. All three rank in the top 33 of the NCAA's Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).
