Dhesi, Rodriguez seeded # 1

Tempe, Ariz. – Oregon State redshirt sophomore heavyweight Amarveer Dhesi and redshirt sophomore 157-pounder Abraham Rodriguez have earned top seeds for the Pacific-12 Conference wrestling championships.
The tournament starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Arizona State's Wells Fargo Arena. The Beavers are four-time defending champions.
Sophomore Ronnie Bresser (125), redshirt junior Joey Palmer (133), senior Seth Thomas (165) and redshirt freshman Corey Griego (184) are seeded second. Redshirt sophomores Jack Hathaway (141) and Cody Crawford (197) and redshirt junior Joey Delgado (149) are seeded fourth.
Redshirt sophomore Tyler Chay (174) is unseeded. Through the luck of the draw, Bresser, Palmer, Hathaway and Griego have first-round byes and have automatically advanced to the semifinals. The other Beavers have quarterfinal matches.
Bresser, Hathaway and Crawford are defending Pac-12 champions. Hathaway won at 133 pounds in 2015 while Palmer was redshirting.
Session I, which starts at 10:30 a.m., includes the quarterfinals, semifinals, and consolation quarterfinals. Session II begins at 3:30 p.m. and includes the finals, the consolation semifinals and the third- and fifth-place matches.
The finals begin at 6 p.m. and will be televised by the Pac-12 Network. Earlier rounds will be available via live stream; check the Pac-12 and Arizona State websites for details.
