
Beavers move up to # 22

The Beavers (11-6) received 24 points in the voting and moved ahead of Purdue and Pittsburgh, who dropped out of the rankings. OSU has won three straight duals and 6 of its last 7 overall.
Arizona State joined OSU in the Top 24 at No. 24. Cal State-Bakersfield (3) and Stanford (1) also received votes.
Penn State stayed No. 1, followed by North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, Iowa and Oklahoma State.
Three Beavers remained in the national rankings in their respective weight classes, and the Beavers moved up to No. 21 in InterMat's team rankings. They are not included in InterMat's tournament rankings.
Redshirt sophomore heavyweight Amarveer Dhesi (24-3) remained ranked No. 9 by The Open Mat and No. 10 by InterMat. He has won 10 consecutive matches since losing three in a row in early January, and has a team-high eight pins.
Redshirt junior Joey Palmer (23-9) moved up one spot to No. 18 in The Open Mat's rankings, but is not in InterMat's top 20.
Sophomore 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser (26-6) remained No. 7 in both polls. He has won five consecutive matches.
Bresser is ranked No. 8 and Dhesi is ranked No. 11 by Amateur Wrestling News.
The Pacific-12 Conference meet is Saturday at Arizona State. The Beavers are four-time defending champions; tickets for the event are now available at the ASU website, thesundevils.com. The championship matches will be televised by the Pac-12 Network, starting at 5 p.m.
