Oregon State To Honor 2006 CWS Champs In April
February 11, 2016 | Baseball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – “Gundy ready, the 1-0 pitch. Flack, a fly ball to left center field. Tyler Graham moving in. Graham is there. The Beavers are the national champions!”
The final seconds of Oregon State's march to the 2006 College World Series National Championship, as called by Mike Parker, are etched into the minds of Beaver Nation.
Ten years ago, the Beavers celebrated “one of the greatest moments in the history of Oregon State Athletics,” as Parker called to Beaver Nation.
Time has passed since the first of two national championships and Oregon State remains a powerhouse in college baseball, opening the 2016 next week as a consensus top 10 team.
Now, 10 years later, Oregon State baseball will honor its 2006 national championship.
Today, we're excited to announce a celebration of the 2006 national championship during Oregon State's series with Washington, April 1-3 at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
“I can't adequately put into words what that team means to me and the impact they've had on Oregon State baseball,” head coach Pat Casey said. “Those guys were unbelievable.
“Those guys are forever etched in my mind and the history of Oregon State baseball. They're a pretty special group.”
The Beavers will throw back to the 2006 season for that series, wearing the uniform that netted them the national championship. That uniform, of course, features the crème top and pants with the “old-school” Beavers script and the black OSU hats with the stitching of baseball seams located in the “O.”
Video clips and memories from the 2006 season will be played on the new videoboard at Goss Stadium, while fans can expect giveaways during the series. There will also be opportunities for those attending the series to take pictures with the national championship trophy.

OSU opens the 2016 season Feb. 19 against Ball State in Surprise, Ariz. The matchup opens an 11-game trip for the Beavers to open the year, with the first eight slated for Arizona and the final three for San Diego, Calif. The 2016 home opener is March 11 against San Francisco.
