CORVALLIS, Ore. – All six of the preseason top 25 rankings have been released and have agreed that the Oregon State baseball team belongs in the top 10.
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its rankings on Monday, and the Beavers are fifth. As has been the case with the previous five polls, Oregon State is the top ranked team from the Pac-12 Conference.
OSU trails only No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Louisville, No. 3 Vanderbilt and No. 4 Texas A&M.
Baseball America and D1Baseball.com also have the Beavers at No. 5, while Perfect Game has OSU at No. 6. Collegiate Baseball and ESPN/USA Today rank the Beavers at No. 8.
OSU opens the 2016 season Feb. 19 against Ball State in Surprise, Ariz. The matchup opens an 11-game trip for the Beavers to open the year, with the first eight slated for Arizona and the final three for San Diego, Calif. The 2016 home opener is March 11 against San Francisco.
