Winkler Announces Freshman Class

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State men's rowing head coach Gabe Winkler announced his freshman class Wednesday. Winkler's additions to the program include four coxswains and 20 rowers.

"This is the best class I've seen here in recent history," head coach Gabe Winkler said. "We went through a selection process and these guys rose to the top. I'm excited to see what they can do for the Beavers."

The 2016-17 newcomers are: Alex Carlton (Sacramento, Calif.), Ethan Croyle (Ashland, Ore.), Raymond Daly (Seattle, Wash.), Rhys Daniel (Oakland, Calif.), Eli Glenzel (Eugene, Ore.), Ezra Glickman (Edmonds, Wash.), Max Hayes (McMinnville, Ore.), Henry Hebson (Evanston, Ill.), Zach Hicks (Kensington, Md.), Josh Hocker (Madras, Ore.), Nick Kapoulas (Moraga, Calif.), Skyler Korn (Portland, Ore.), Dennis Nikolav (Sofia, Bulgaria), Conor Padden (Franklin, Tenn.), Colin Parker (Marin County, Calif.), Roman Pjajka (Prague, Czech Republic), Jacob Randall (Lake Oswego, Ore.), Trenton Ruf (Medford, Ore.), Hunter Rust (Philomath, Ore.) and Joseph Sullivan (Carmichael, Calif.) and coxswains Jordan Clark (Los Gatos, Calif.), Jon Despines (Peters Township, Pa.), Ben Garrison (Hillsborough, Calif.) and Shane Parrott (Sacramento, Calif.).
