Beavers Sweep Past Field at Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Junior All-American Madeline Gardiner won the all-around and two other events as 12th-ranked Oregon State swept past the field at Lindenwood Saturday evening.
Gardiner posted a season-best 39.300 all-around score in winning the event for the second straight week. She added scores of 9.875 on the vault and 9.850 on the balance beam to tie for meet-high honors. She also scored 9.875 on the floor exercise to tie for third.
“I am happy with the improvements we saw tonight,” head coach Tanya Chaplin said. “The work they put in at the gym this week was evident and showed up tonight. This is a much better indicator of the talent on this team.”
Senior Jamie Radermacher posted a career-best 9.900 on the floor win the event for the second week in a row, the first event titles of her career. Junior Kaytianna McMillan recorded her first win of the year as well scoring 9.875 in her first uneven bars performance of the year.
OSU's best rotation came on the floor where it marked at 49.225 and Radermacher won the event while Gardiner and Risa Perez tied for third with scores of 9.875. The floor came in the fourth rotation as the Beavers returned from a mid-meet bye and boasted them to an insurmountable lead.
Oregon State topped the 49-point mark on all four events including season-bests on bars (49.025), beam (49.000) and floor. In all, the Beavers hit 23 of 24 routines.
Other Beavers notching personal-bests were freshmen McKenna Singley (9.825) and Mary Jacobsen (9.775) on the vault; freshman Mariana Colussi-Pelaez (9.825), Jacobsen (9.800) and Singley (9.725) on the bars; junior Megan Jimenez (9.775) and Colussi-Pelaez (9.600) on the beam and Jimenez (9.825) on the floor.
Oregon State returns to action at 2 p.m. PST Saturday in the Beavers' Pac-12 Conference opener in Salt Lake City.
