A Look Back: The 2006 Senior Class
June 25, 2015 | Women's Volleyball
For our third installment of “Where are they now” we present the class of 2006. This class includes Abby Swancutt (Windell), Brittany Fobi (Cahoon), and Taylor Wentworth (Studzinski). Windell came to OSU from Gresham, Ore., Cahoon is from Shelton, Wash., and Studzinski hails from Lockport, Ill.
Abby Windell was not just a dominant middle blocker for the Beavers but amassed a 3.56 GPA during her time at Oregon State. As one of the co-captains that season, Abby was a strong leader and great example both on and off of the court.
Brittany Cahoon came to Oregon State as a middle blocker but based on necessity had to switch to playing opposite her senior season. While the transition meant a whole new viewpoint on the game, especially with having to play in the back row, Brittany took on the challenge in her effort to do what was best for the team.
Taylor Studzinski, who hadn't set since her junior year of High School, had to step in as a setter and led the team when then starter Camillia Ah-Hoy was injured. With nothing more than a refresher course on the basics, Taylor went on to lead the Beavers' offense for the rest of the season. She was a true example of being a team player and stepping up in any way necessary.
Cahoon played in 104 matches during her career, finishing with 732 kills, 271 digs and 21 service aces. Studzinski played in 78 matches, recording 92 kills, 101 assists, 12 service aces and 143 digs. Windell, meanwhile, played in 96 matches, tallying 605 kills, 86 assists, 55 service aces and 238 digs.
