Yoo Finishes Second At Bruin Wave Invite

TARZANA, Calif. – Senior Anica Yoo finished in a tie for second and the Oregon State women's golf team placed ninth at the two-day, 54-hole Bruin Wave Invitational on Tuesday.
Yoo notched a second-place finish for the second time this season after concluding the tourney with a 5-over 74-71-76--221 at the par-72, 6,173-yard El Caballero Country Club. Erynne Lee of UCLA took medalist honors with an even-par 216 and Sirene Blair of San Diego State tied Yoo for second.
The Beavers had another strong showing in their spring season with a ninth-place finish in the 15-team field with a 64-over 315-305--308--928. No. 3 Washington took the team title with a 26-over 890, while UCLA finished second with a 35-over 899 and Oklahoma State was third with a 37-over 901.

Yoo had 11 birdies over the three rounds to help her secure the fifth top-10 finish of her career. Her best finish is first place at the Rose City Collegiate in the fall of 2013. She also finished second at the Oregon State Invitational this past fall and sixth at both the Topy Cup and Silverado Showdown as a junior.
Junior Chelsea Saelee finished in a tie for 36th place with a 17-over 77-77-79--233 and junior Ashlee Pickerell had her best round of the tournament on Tuesday to move up nine spots and finish in a tie for 45th with a 19-over 83-78-74--235.
Freshman Haley Nist shot a 27-over 82-82-79--243 to tie for 64th place and sophomore Krissy Peterson came in with a 28-over 82-79-83--244 to finish in a tie for 66th.
The Beavers have three weeks off before returning to action Monday, March 23 to Wednesday, March 25 at the Anuenue Spring Challenge in Kapalua, Hawai'i.
