QUICKLY: Oregon State and Oregon meet for the 345th time, making it the most-contested rivalry in college basketball ... The Beavers have defeated the Ducks 185 times, the third-most wins against a single team in NCAA history ... Oregon State's 13 days between games (Dec. 21-Jan. 3) is its longest in a season since a 14-day break in 1980 (Dec. 13-Dec. 27) ... Gary Payton II is the only player in the country averaging at least 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game ... Langston Morris-Walker and Olaf Schaftenaar have combined to go 12-for-23 from beyond the arc the past three games ... Tres Tinkle is averaging 16.3 points over the past four games ... Drew Eubanks is third in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage (.661) and 10th in blocked shots (1.6) ... THE SERIES: Oregon State and Oregon have played an NCAA-record 344 games with the Beavers holding a 185-159 advantage. Here's a look at the most contested rivalries in college basketball history:
Games -- Opponents (First Year)
344 -- Oregon State vs. Oregon (1903)
299 -- Oregon vs. Washington (1904)
297 -- Oregon State vs. Washington (1904)
292 -- Oregon State vs. Washington State (1907)
289 -- Oregon vs. Washington State (1908)
281 -- Kansas vs. Kansas State (1907)
The Beavers have defeated the Ducks 185 times, the third-most wins against a single team in NCAA history (Washington has defeated Oregon 189 times; Kansas has 188 wins over Kansas State). Oregon State has a record of 100-63 against the Ducks in games played in Corvallis.
Wayne Tinkle started five walk-ons, all from the state of Oregon, in last year's Civil War at Gill Coliseum. Two of them -- Matt Dahlen and Justin Stangel -- are still on the team, while AJ Hedgecock, Dylan Livesay and Tanner Sanders played for the Beavers that one season.
BEAVERS vs. DUCKS IN CONFERENCE OPENER: Oregon State and Oregon have met 10 times previously in the Pac-12 opener since the conference expanded in 1978-79. The Beavers won the first two meetings but the Ducks have taken the last eight, including last year's conference-opening game in Eugene.

A WIN OVER THE DUCKS: If Oregon State defeats Oregon it will improve to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in Pac-12 play. It would also:
- Be the third time since 1994-95 that Oregon State won its Pac-12 opener (2004-05 and 2010-11 were the others).
- Equal Oregon State's best start through 12 games since the 1984-85 opened 11-1 (the 1989-90 and 2011-12 teams started 10-2).
- Be the second time in three seasons the Beavers defeated Oregon at home.
- Be Oregon State's second four-game winning streak of the season.
- Snap a four-game losing streak to the Ducks.
- Give Wayne Tinkle a 2-2 career record against Oregon.
