December 22, 2015 | Wrestling
The Beavers (3-3) received four votes in this week's poll. That's 21 fewer than No. 25 West Virginia, which OSU defeated 23-9 on Nov. 15. The Beavers were the only Pacific-12 Conference team receiving votes.
Sophomore 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser (12-4) remained ranked No. 6 by InterMat and No. 7 by The Open Mat. He is 6-3 against ranked opponents this season.
Redshirt sophomore heavyweight Amarveer Dhesi (11-0) remained No. 5 in both the InterMat and The Open Mat rankings. Redshirt junior 133-pounder Joey Palmer (10-5) stayed No. 19 in The Open Mat rankings but was not ranked by InterMat.
Penn State stayed No. 1, followed by Iowa, North Carolina State, Missouri and Virginia Tech.
OSU concluded the dual-meet portion of the calendar year by crushing Clackamas Community College 45-0 on Dec. 18. It resumes tournament action on Dec. 29-30 at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
