
Beavers Move Up To No. 7

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's basketball team jumped two spots in this week's USA Today/WBCA Coaches' poll, moving up to No. 7 in the rankings which were released Tuesday. The ranking is tied for the highest in school history, matching the Beavers best position in the polls last season.
The Beavers also came in at No. 9 in Monday's AP Poll.
Oregon State is off to a hot start in the 2015-16 season, opening the season with a pair of dominant wins over Longwood and Portland. As a team the Beavers are shooting 57.5 percent on the season, and are holding their opponents to a shooting percentage of 25.7. OSU also holds an outstanding 100-37 edge in rebounds, and has recorded 43 assists on 73 made baskets.
Senior Jamie Weisner has led the Beavers in scoring in both of this season's games, following up a 24-point performance on Friday with a 22-point outing on Monday. Sophomore Marie Gulich is averaging 11 points per game off the bench, and notched her first career double-double against Portland, despite playing just 14 minutes in the game.
The Beavers are coming off a season in-which they won the program's first ever Pac-12 title, setting a school record with 27 wins.
