
Beavers Ground Pilots 94-50

PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 9/9 Oregon State women's basketball team put together another dominating performance Monday evening, recording a 94-50 road win over Portland at the Chiles Center in Portland, Ore.
“It was awesome to see so much orange her in the Chiles Center,” said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. “It was beautiful to see so many Beaver fans here, and I think they brought us energy tonight. I thought our defense was phenomenal. I think the intensity we played with on Friday continued today, and I think we've played 80 minutes of high-level basketball this year.”
Senior Jamie Weisner led the Beavers with 22 points, following up her 24-point performance on Friday by shooting 7-for-10 from the floor. The Clarkston, Wash. native also tallied three rebounds and two blocks in the game.
As a team, Oregon State shot 50.8 percent (32-63) from the floor, 46.7 (7-15) percent from 3-point range and 85.2 (23-27) percent from the free throw line.
Junior Gabriella Hanson ended the evening with 14 points, three rebounds and three assists. Sophomore Marie Gulich recorded her first career double-double, tallying 10 points and 10 rebounds in 14 minutes. Redshirt-sophomore Breanna Brown set a career-high with 12 points, while junior Sydney Wiese rounded out the group of five Beavers in double-figures, recording 10 points and four assists.
As a team, Oregon State out-rebounded Portland 46-19, and held a 46-12 advantage on points in the paint.
The Beavers jumped on top right from the start, scoring the first nine points of the game on their way to an early 18-1 advantage. Oregon State would continue to dominate throughout the first half, shooting 50 percent in the first two quarters, on its way to a 47-16 halftime lead.
The second half featured more of the same, as OSU extended its lead to as many as 49, before taking the win by 44.
