Rowers Invite Alumni & Fans to Orange & Black Race
October 29, 2015 | Women's Rowing
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State rowing programs will hold the 10th annual Orange & Black Regatta Nov. 14, which will conclude with a boat dedication for the new women's 8, the Judy Kitzman.
The event traditionally features the men's and women's teams broken into Orange and Black squads competing in a head race in a variety of boat classes.
This year, a couple new components have been added to an already great event. Veteran Oregon State rowers are invited to compete in the first annual Orange & Black Alumni sprints providing a chance for alums to get back in a boat.
Lunch will be available following the sprints and the grand finale of the 2015 event will be the dedication of the Beavers' newest shell, the Judy Kitzman, named after former coach and OSU Rowing pioneer Judy Kitzman.
The shell was purchased following the first crowd funding effort by Oregon State Athletics and raised 106% of its public goal.

Fans can view the regatta for free from the landing at North Riverfront Park on the west side of the Willamette River below The Spaghetti Factory and across from the OSU Boathouse.
