Beaver Basketball: Home Court Advantage
October 20, 2015 | Women's Basketball
There's no place like home, especially when it comes to Oregon State basketball!
Thanks to the support from the OSU BeaverDAM and loyal Beaver basketball fans, the men's and women's teams combined to go 29-4 at Gill Coliseum last season.
The men set program records for best start at Gill Coliseum (14-0) and the most home wins in a single season (15). The average attendance for men's basketball at Gill Coliseum was 5,612, a 42.2 percent increase from the previous season, and the average attendance for Pac-12 games was 6,988, an increase of 47.8 percent. Both average increases were the highest in the Pac-12.
The women led the Pac-12 in attendance last season with an average of 4,167 fans per-game overall and 4,785 for conference games. The Beavers drew over 5,000 fans five times, over 6,000 four times and broke 7,000 against Idaho and Oregon. Oregon State went 14-2 at Gill Coliseum last season, and holds a 28-3 record at home over the last two years. The Beavers' 2014-15 home slate was headlined by wins over Arizona State and Cal, as well as the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament being hosted at Gill.
