CORVALLIS, Ore. – The eight annual Pink Out went as planned for the No. 11 Oregon State gymnastics team defending the home floor scoring its season-high of 196.925 and dominating No. 15 Arizona and Seattle Pacific. Makayla Stambaugh won the all-around for the second straight week scoring 39.525 and Chelsea Tang set a career-high as the runner-up at 39.400.
“(The results) are coming from our training,” Stambaugh said. “We are pretty consistent in the gym and every day we come to practice and tell ourselves that we have a job to do. We have to leave the distractions outside and focus in, and make the best of it. When we come to the gym, we're not dragging our feet, we're excited to be there, getting to do what we love to do and it's showing. And on nights like this we get to show it to our fans.”
Oregon State's record improves to 10-5 and 4-0 in the Pac-12 Conference while Arizona slips to 10-7 and Seattle Pacific dropped to 1-8.

“There were some really outstanding things and there were some mental breaks that we need to make sure we don't have,” head coach Tanya Chaplin said. “I knew with midterms and other things, I would see those things happening in the gym. How we train is usually how we compete and we need to make sure we get focused in as we head into finals week and these last few meets.”
