Cooks Sets Another Record, OSU Downed By UW

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Brandin Cooks caught 10 passes for 117 yards to lead Oregon State in a 69-27 loss to Washington Saturday night at Reser Stadium.
Cooks extended his school-record for receptions in a single season to 110 while his 117 yards receiving pushed him past Mike Hass (2005) for the most by an Oregon State player with 1,560. His record-breaking reception came on a 29-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
His 110 receptions this season pushes him into third place in the Pac-12 Conference record books, and now trails only Marqise Lee (118 in 2012) and Robert Woods (111 in 2011), both from USC. Cooks' 1,560 yards receiving this year moves him into second place, trailing only Lee's 1,721 last season.
Cooks also became the fourth player in Oregon State history to catch more than 200 passes in a career and stands at 208, good for fifth. His 3,102 surpasses Markus Wheaton for third in a career.
Sean Mannion finished the game with 229 yards passing while completing 20 of his 41 passes attempted. His counterpart, Cyler Miles, completed 15-of-24 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown.
Washington running back Bishop Sankey carried the ball 23 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns. He scored twice in the first half, guiding the Huskies to a 27-0 lead at halftime. He added a third score six minutes into the third quarter.
D.J. Alexander and Rommel Mageo led the Beavers defensively. Both had 10 tackles to tie for the team lead.
The Beavers honored 17 seniors prior to the game.
