Team Notes
• The Beavers started junior Jared Cunningham and sophomore Ahmad Starks at guard, junior Joe Burton and sophomore Devon Collier at forward and junior Angus Brandt at center.
• Oregon State finished the game with 19 steals, the most in a single game since it set a school-record with 27 against Hawaii-Loa on Dec. 22, 1984. Last season, the Beavers were fifth in the nation and led the Pac-10 in steals with 9.5 per game.
• Oregon State scored 52 first-half points, their most in a game's opening half since Dec. 21, 2006 when they scored 53 against Mercer.
• The 24-point margin of victory was the largest for the Beavers since they defeated CSU Bakersfield by 35 (74-39) on Dec. 6, 2009 at Gill Coliseum.
• Joe Burton (16), Jared Cunningham (15), Ahmad Starks (16) and Eric Moreland (11) each finished in double-figures in points. The Beavers accomplished that feat 11 times last season and posted an 8-3 record in those games.
• The Beavers started the game on an 11-0 run.
Player Notes
• Junior Jared Cunningham, who led the Pac-10 and was fifth in the nation in steals last season at 2.83 per game, finished with five steals.
• Freshman Challe Barton checked in with 4:13 remaining in the first half to record his first action for the Beavers and quickly filled up the stat sheet, converting a traditional three-point play on a driving layup and successful free throw just nine seconds after coming on the court. He finished his Oregon State debut with eight points on a perfect shooting day. Barton was 2-for-2 from the floor, including one three-pointer, and converted all three of his free throw attempts.
• Sophomore Ahmad Starks set a career-high with six steals in the game and tied his career-high with seven made field goals. His 16 points were just two short of his career-high of 18 set on Feb. 26, 2011 against California.
• Freshman Eric Moreland recorded his first career double-double with an efficient 11 points and 10 rebounds in just 24 minutes of action. He is just the third current Beaver to reach double digits in two statistical categories in a single game in his career as Joe Burton and Devon Collier have each recorded one double-double in their careers.
• Dating back to last season, Cunningham (15) and Starks (16) each finished in double-figures for the third consecutive game.
• Junior Joe Burton also set a career-high with four steals, besting the three he notched against Stanford on March 9 of last season.
