
Softball Falls 1-0 to No. 8 Stanford

Corvallis, Ore. – A costly error by the Oregon State softball team (20-18, 1-4 Pac-10) resulted in a 1-0 loss to No. 8 Stanford (30-5, 4-1 Pac-10) on Saturday afternoon at the OSU Softball Complex.
Between the two teams, there were a combined eight hits with freshman Ally Kutz (Mt. Vernon, Wash.) and seniors Tarah Black (Portland, Ore.) and Dani Chisholm (Boring, Ore.) earning one hit each.
Stanford broke up the scoreless game in the top of the fifth, scoring one on an error to take the slim 1-0 lead.
Sophomore Paige Hall (Portland, Ore.) was charged with the complete game loss, striking out three with the lone run unearned, making her record 14-15. Stanford's Teagan Gerhart earned the complete game win to improve to 22-4.
