STANFORD, Calif. - The Oregon State women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a 19th place finish at the Pac-10/SEC Women's Golf Challenge Sunday afternoon at the par-71, 6,103 yard Stanford Golf Course.
The final round was delayed two hours and played in inclement weather that made the scores much higher than the previous two rounds. But the Beavers shot a 305 on Sunday, just one stroke off their Saturday round and 15 strokes better than their opening round.
"Overall, it was a good fall season giving us a lot of valuable experience for a young team," Oregon State head coach Risë Alexander said. "Unfortunately, the first day hurt our opportunity to finish in a better position. Seisha (Telles) played very well today in difficult weather conditions and a significant weather delay."
Freshman Seshia Telles continued her strong play with a 3-over 74 to pace the Beavers on Sunday, while junior Elyse Okada shot a 76 for the second consecutive day. Junior Whitney French fired a 77 and freshman Lauren Sewell shot a 78 to account for Oregon State's 305 team total.
UCLA finished first in the 21-team field with a 4-over 285-281-290--856856 and Sophia Popov of USC won medalist honors with a 6-under 72-68-67--207.
The Beavers begin their spring season Feb. 7-8 at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in Tucson.
