Beavers Sweep Season Opener at Victoria

Corvallis, Ore. – The Beavers claimed victory once again against Victoria in a clean sweep for the Oregon State's Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+, and Novice 8+ boats. The highlight of the regatta was the V4+ boat as they battled their way to a .6 second win from behind.
The V8+ won by 19.1 seconds, while both 2V8+ bats finished at least 30 seconds ahead of the competition. The N8+ boat also finished the race with a 35.6 second lead.
"We came up here to learn more about ourselves, and I feel that we definitely accomplished that. We left several people home with injuries and sickness and I thought this group did a great job stepping in and stepping up. Without question, the race of the day was the four. They came from 3 boat lengths behind to win by a fraction of a second. Both teams were extremely tenacious and I'm really proud of our group for pulling off the win."
