OREGON STATE HEAD COACH Craig Robinson
On the wins this weekend...
"This is what we should expect from ourselves. I thought the team responded very well to the adjustments we had to make from game-to-game."
On the adjustments made throughout game...
"Defensively we saw that they [Cal State Bakersfield] were having a tough time with all three of our defenses - man-to-man, two-three zone, and the one-three-one. They were scoring off of our turnovers. We took better care of the ball. Secondly, we got more aggressive on offense. We were more patient and we got better shots."
On being 36-of-40 from the line the last three halves...
"That's how you win games. You beat teams by getting them in foul trouble early and then making your foul shots and executing your offense. We did all three of those things today."
On Joe Burton...
"He's doing well. He's taking advantage of opportunities he's getting. He's not playing a ton of minutes. I'm trying to work him into not getting into foul trouble while playing good defense. He's gotten better already. He had one foul which I didn't think was his foul and he missed one foul shot in the game. He led us in rebounding again. We're really pleased and hope that his progression keeps going in an upward slope."
SENIOR FORWARD Seth Tarver
On tying the Oregon State single-game steals mark...
"I saw the ball and just went and got it. We started off a little rough but as the game got going we really started to get rolling."
On the team hitting its free throws...
"We practice those every practice, and as a team we are seeing it pay off with our high percentages in the results."
CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD HEAD COACH KEITH BROWN
On the game plan...
"Our game plan was to play around and underneath the length of this Oregon State team and we insisted on playing over the top of it early, which didn't pay off."
On the shortcomings this game...
"There was a lot of execution where we had point blank shots and steals that we didn't convert. You have to take advantage of those opportunities and get points out of them, which we didn't do this game and that's when a game gets away from you."
On improving through the season...
"We have enough in place to win, but we have to trust each other a little bit more, trust each other and understand that we're not going to be able to just come out and play games with offensive efficiency as badly as it's been for the last two games."
