Tim Sundseth is in his third season as the assistant coach for the Oregon State men's golf program. The former Beavers standout assists in all facets of the Oregon State program.
"Tim graduated three years ago and was a volunteer coach for us," Watts said. "He knows my philosophy as a head coach and has been very supportive of that throughout his career at Oregon State. Being familiar with our program and being a graduate of Oregon State as well as his experience, his maturity, his talent on the golf course and just an overall great person has been a great addition to the team."
Sundseth played at McNary High School in Keizer, Ore., where he earned three letters and was named to the All-Valley League first team his junior year. He graduated from Redmond High School in Redmond, Ore. in 2001. At Redmond he earned an additional letter and was named All-State first team helping lead to the state championship that year.
Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Ore. is where Sundseth began his collegiate golfing career, starting two years (2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons). From COCC, Sundseth enrolled at Oregon State in Sept. 2004 and joined the Oregon State golf team where he played for two seasons (2004-05 and 2005-06). Also, in the summer of 2005, he competed at the Oregon Amateur Championship and reached the round of 32.
Sundseth is a 2007 graduate of Oregon State where he earned a bachelor of science degree in exercise and sport science with an option in physical education.
"This is really his first coaching opportunity," Watts said. "He's someone who I look at five years down the road and see that he could be a great coach. He's one of those special guys that come along in a coach's career as a student-athlete and as a player. He was a great leader on and off the golf course. All of the players in the program have always respected him off and on the golf course. He leads by example."
