Tim Sundseth
- Title:
- Assistant Coach
Tim Sundseth enters his sixth year as an assistant coach with the Oregon State men's golf program.
The Beavers have advanced to the NCAA Regional Championships all five years Sundseth has been with the program, including a trip to the NCAA Championships in 2010 where Oregon State finished tied for 16th. He has been part of six team titles, including two last season when the Beavers won the Pacific Invitational and Fresno State Lexus Classic, and six individual titles.
Sundseth has also been involved with some of the best individual performances in school history as Diego Velasquez set the single-season scoring average record with a 70.31 during the 2009-10 season and Alex Moore finish second all-time with a 70.74 in 2010-11. Moore also shot the best round in Oregon State history when he fired a 9-under 63 at the Oregon Duck Invitational in the spring of 2011.
Velasquez became the first Beavers golfer to earn PING First Team All-America honors and Moore became just the sixth Oregon State golfer to earn All-America recognition when he was named to the PING and Golfweek honorable mention teams.
Off the course, a total of 14 student-athletes have earned Pac-12 All-Academic recognition during Sundseth's first five seasons and Alex Williams (2009) and Jonnie Motomochi (2012) were each honored for the prestigious Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Sundseth joined the Oregon State golf team in 2004 and competed for the Beavers for two seasons after beginning his collegiate golf career at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Ore.
He graduated from Redmond High school in Redmond, Ore., in 2001 where he was named All-State First Team and helped lead the team to the state championship. Before that he attended McNary High School in Keizer, Ore., where he earned three letters and was named to the All-Valley League First Team his junior year.
Sundseth is a 2007 graduate of Oregon State where he earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science with an option in Physical Education. He is married to the former Lindsey Repp.
