OMAHA, Neb. - Senior post Hollye Chapman recorded her second straight double-double and the 11th of her career, but it wasn't enough as Oregon State University's women's basketball season came to an end on Wednesday night with a 74-64 loss to Creighton University in the quarterfinals of the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
The Beavers end their season with a 17-15 overall record, while the Bluejays improve to 22-9 overall and advance to the tournament's Final Four.
The back-and-forth game saw 15 ties and 10 lead changes and both teams battled to a 35-35 tie at halftime.
OSU opened up a five-point lead (42-37) early in the second half after a lay-up from senior Brina Chaney, but Creighton answered with a pair of 3-pointers to regain the advantage.
CU buried five treys in the second half and 9-of-29 attempts in the game. Laura Spanheimer buried a 3-pointer at the 4:34 mark and then converted an old-fashioned 3-point play to give Creighton a 63-55 lead with just under four minutes remaining.
The Beavers went ice-cold from the floor, managing only two field goals over the final six minutes of the game.
Chapman finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in her final game at Oregon State. Fellow seniors Leilani Estavan and Chaney added eight and 11 points, respectively as their four-year careers came to a close. The trio saw action in more games than any other players in Oregon State history. Senior Krystal Turner also added five points and four boards.
