Buzzer Beating Three Pointer Lifts Beavers Over Vikings

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Brian Jackson hit a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer from more than 30 feet as Oregon State defeated Portland State 53-50 Tuesday night.
Philip Ricci's 23 points lead the way for the Beavers (5-1). Jackson contributed 15 points.
The Vikings (2-5) got 21 points and eight rebounds from Jeb Ivey, while Seth Scott added 13 points.
The game was tied at 13 at the 9:42 mark, but the Beavers hit only two of their last 11 shots of the half. PSU outscored Oregon State 15-6 to take a 28-19 lead into the break.
OSU chipped away at the lead in the second half, overtaking the Vikings at 9:01 when Ricci's hook shot over Steven Hamilton gave the Beavers a 36-35 lead.
The game went back and forth until Ivey hit two free throws with 27 seconds to give PSU a 50-47 lead. OSU's Chris Stephens hit a 3-pointer to tie the game with 16 seconds left.

The Vikings squandered their next possession when the ball bounced off Brandon Haughton and out-of-bounds with 3.6 seconds remaining.
Jackson in-bounded the ball to Lamar Hurd who pushed it up the floor and dumped it back to Jackson for the last shot. The 6-foot-9 forward launched a jumper that hit the rim and bounced high in the air before dropping in as the buzzer sounded.
