Tucson, Ariz. - - Shawna Feldt went 2-for-3 for the Oregon State softball team on Saturday evening, but Arizona's Jennie Finch allowed just two other OSU hits as the Wildcats downed the Beavers 11-0 in five innings of Pacific-10 conference play at Arizona's Hillenbrand Stadium. The Beavers (26-8-1, 0-2 Pac-10) will have another shot at Arizona (38-3, 2-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Oregon State fell behind 3-0 after two innings when Finch came up with a two-run single in the first and Katie Swan followed with a RBI single in the second.
Tarrah Beyster, the Pac-10 Player of the Week last week, pitched 2 1/3 innings, but was relieved by Crystal Draper in the third after surrendering 12 hits and 11 runs. Draper went 1 2/3 to finish out the game.
The game was called after five innings due to the eight run mercy rule when the Wildcats put eight runs on the board in the third to make it 11-0. Arizona sent 14 batters to the plate in the inning, and Finch knocked in two more runs in two separate at-bats in the third while going 2-for-3 with four RBIs.
Beyster and Brynnen Guthrie, who had two doubles in Friday's game at Arizona State, had OSU's two other hits.
