TUCSON, Ariz. - Brynnen Guthrie went 3-for-4 with three runs, a double, a triple and an RBI to help lift the No. 10 Oregon State softball team to a 12-0 victory over Tulsa in five innings at the Hillenbrand Classic on Saturday.
OSU (16-4-1) combined for 12 hits while Tulsa mustered up just one hit off Tarrah Beyster as the Beavers won their 10th straight game.
"It was nice to have a lot of offense. It took a lot of pressure off Tarrah and off our defense," said coach Kirk Walker. "We had a lot of production out of our entire lineup."
Guthrie's three runs tied the OSU record for runs scored in a game, and her triple was the first by a Beaver this season.
Jenni Jodoin also added three hits, going 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Parisa Plant smacked a two-run double, and Shawna Feldt was 1-for-4 with three RBI and a run. Beyster was 1-for-2 with two RBI, and Shelly Prochaska went 2-for-2 and scored twice.
Beyster improved to 10-4 after limiting Tulsa (7-14) to just one hit, a single in the first inning. She tallied four strikeouts with no walks in five innings of work.
The Beavers continue competition at the Hillenbrand Classic with a contest against St. Peter's at 7 p.m. PST on Saturday.
