Washington vs. Oregon State

OSU Coach Judy Spoelstra
"Our defense executed the game plan well. We pushed them out of the basket and our hands were out. Megan (Franza) won't have too many nights like that, she's going to light it up on Sunday. She was shooting from behind the (NBA) white line. We didn't start out too hard, our offense was sputtering. We tried for a triangle offense and didn't pull it off. We were forced to take shots. At the half, the Huskies had seven boards, we only had two. When Syesha (Thomas) went in, she got it running and we started to pick it up. As for any tournament shots, we could possibly sneak one in. We'd have to beat UCLA, Oregon, or USC. We're not worrying. Our goal is to get better. It's just one game at a time."
Washington Coach June Daugherty
"I thought we did a better job defending, especially in the second half. LeAnn (Sheets) did a pretty outstanding job defensively. I thought we defended good enough to win. We rebounded well but the shots weren't falling. We just need to get back in the gym. Obviously, Megan (Franza) struggled offensively but I give her credit for picking up her "D" in the second half, especially on Ragland. You can't dwell on the negatives. You have to look at the positives. The next game is the most important game."
Washington Guard Megan Franza
"Everybody is focusing on Sunday. We thought we played well and did some things well but we couldn't get the shots to fall. We are just focusing on Sunday and getting ready for Oregon."
Washington Post LeAnn Sheets
"I don't feel that great about it (her career high 17 points) because it didn't help us win. Our shots didn't fall. We played tremendous "D". It's frustrating but there's nothing you can do when the offense isn't clicking. The post did a great job blocking out. We've been working on that the past few weeks in practice."
